To view UK TV programs while abroad you will need a satellite dish and receiver.  Many people think you must have a SKY box and card to watch satellite TV but this is not necessarily the case.  A SKY receiver is only necessary if you wish to view SKY subscription channels.  Other receivers are available that will pick up the free to air (FTA)channels from ASTRA 2 as well as the ability to tune in to other satellites, "Hotbird" for example carries "BBC World" which is a TV version of the World Service. Alternatively you could opt for a FREESAT receiver which will work with the ASTRA2 group of satellites only to give you a good choice of channels including the normal five.

There is plenty of choice in dishes as well, you could opt for a small 30CM manual dish which will work throughout most of the UK but if you want to go abroad you will need a bigger dish.  You can mount your dish on a tripod positioned at the side of your pitch or you could opt for a manual or even fully automatic roof mounted unit.  Cost varies according to which type and size of dish you choose.  A small 30 CM manual dish and tripod mount could be yours for around the £100 mark, a semi automatic will cost a few hundred pounds and fully automatic systems start from a little over a thousand.

Crystop Automatic Satellite Systems

Designed, manufactured and hand-assembled in Germany, Crystop mobile satellite systems are amongst the very best products of their kind available. Although they’re one of the smallest manufacturers of mobile satellite systems, Crystop are leaders in electronic design and engineering expertise. With only the best quality components used and with reliability and ease of operation in mind, each unit is individually tested as a complete system ensuring that, straight out of the box, everything works just as it should and, just as importantly, keeps on working for as long as you keep the system.

Crystop systems are very flexible: automatic skew, multi-output LNBs and even 2-way Internet access can all be supplied as an option on certain new units or fitted later should the need arise. Even the electronic control panels, although simple to operate, can also be used to re-programme the system should the need arise. Any digital satellite receiver can be used: Sky digiboxes (including Sky+), Freesat receivers and any free to air model such as those from Zehnder can all be easily connected. In these ways, Crystop have virtually “future-proofed” their products.

There are two ranges of Crystop satellite systems, Autosat 2 and Autosat Light. Autosat 2 models have bigger, stronger motors and are capable of dealing with larger dishes of 85cm and 1M in diameter. They also have more options available such as twin LNBs and automatic skewing.

Autosat Light units are designed to be lighter in weight and therefore have smaller, less powerful motors. Maximum dish size is 65cm and there are models which are ideal for vehicles with special requirements such as low height (down to 11cm) or small operating area (as small as 28cm radius). There are even free-standing units which can be easily carried and then positioned in order to avoid obstacles such as trees.

Crystop light "Flat and low"

Description

Camos Crank-up "Flat Sat"

A neat compact system that is easy to install and use and takes up less room on the roof

Description
This new satellite system from CAMOS represents a real breakthrough. Instead of a conventional dish, the Flat-Sat uses a planar antenna to catch a satellite’s beam. This is a very efficient method and enables the “dish” to be much smaller, taking up less room on a vehicle’s (or boat’s) roof and making it easier both to install and use. In the case of this model, the antenna measures 40cm across but has a performance similar to a dish of 50cm diameter. And, when it’s in the parked position, the unit’s height is just 12cm.

Flat Sat Twin The antenna’s design makes it much more resistant to wind than a normal dish, allowing it to be used in conditions where other systems would have to be lowered for safety. Having a twin LNB enables the functionality of Sky+ or other similar satellite receivers so that two channels can be watched at the same time.

Multimedia entertainment simply means entertainment from multiple media sources, i.e. DVD, satellite or terrestrial TV, radio, CD, MP3 perhaps or even good old tape cassettes. At it's most basic a multimedia system could be a simple radio/cassette player and it's most complex could be a computerised system incorporating TV, DVD, CD, music and or video from a hard drive, internet access perhaps.
As multimedia by it's very nature is such a varied area it is difficult to offer set systems, different people have different requirements. On this page are some examples of multimedia equipment but these are by no means exhaustive. If you have particular requirements in mind please phone or e-mail to discuss your desires.

I can source most types of equipment to suit your needs. It is definitely better to phone or e-mail with your requirements and I can then quote for exactly what you want
