There are many security products available, some more effective than others. The main purpose of a security system is to persuade would be thieves to go somewhere else. To this end high visibility is the key factor, either products should be visible in themselves or clear labelling should warn of their presence to deter the ne’er do wells.
Security products fall into two categories, passive and active. Passive products, such as locks, block access but don’t react to attempted break-in. Active systems include alarms and immobilisers which do react to attempted break-in either by sounding a siren, immobilising the vehicle electronically or both.

I now supply and install the Laserline range of Thatcham approved alarm and immobilizer systems. A typical motorhome installation will include ultrasonic movement sensors in the cab, a wireless PIR motion detector in the living area and magnetic reed switches on caravan and hatch doors. These alarms can be tailored to your exact requirements with additional sirens and flashing LEDs and the internal motion detection (ultrasonics and PIR) can be switched off while you are inside the vehicle.
The main types of alarm;
Model 278 can utilise the existing vehicle central locking remote control and also has a pair of manual override touchkeys. This is a Thatcham CAT 2-1 upgrade system for vehicles that already have Thatcham CAT 2 immobilisers fitted

Additional security lock which is suitable for use on many
caravan and motorhome rear doors. This lock comes as a two part lock,
an inner and outer section. The Abus bolt locks against the inner door
frame making for a ultra secure lock. Comes complete with protective cap
for outer lock to keep dirt and dampness out. Requires 5 small 11mm holes
drilling.

Fiamma safe door lock
Fiamma Safe Door: Safety block for motorhome and caravan door.
It works as an anti-theft device preventing access into the vehicle via the
door. It is made of sturdy anodized aluminium without plastic parts and is fitted
with a high security barrel lock. It can be easily installed with the bolts
and internal counter-brackets supplied. It is necessary to drill right through
the vehicle wall.
